Not every heating process can be solved with straight lamps or flat emitters. IR special emitters are manufactured for applications where heat must follow a 3D contour. Quartz glass can be bent and adapted to three-dimensional contours.

Benefits

Heat follows the shape — Curved and omega-shaped emitters enable IR heating at locations unreachable by straight lamps. No energy wasted on irrelevant surfaces.
Non-contact heating — No sticking, no marks on sensitive film, flooring or artificial leather surfaces.
Multi-zone control — Independent heating zones along the component contour — stronger heating on thicker material sections, gentler treatment of sensitive areas.
Fast response time — Even for complex geometries — IR lamps respond in seconds, not minutes like conventional heating systems.
Easy Clean Design — As with all SOPARA IR components: reflectors separately accessible, cleanable and replaceable.

Applications

Edge heating in laminating lines — curved emitters follow the edge contour. Tube heating and forming in extrusion post-processing. Profile heating for seals, strips and extruded products.

Available Options

Bent lamps — for tube, profile and edge heating
Omega-shaped emitters — for corners, edges and small areas
Ring/circular emitters — for cylindrical products
Customer-specific reflector position — optimal radiation direction
SW or MW version — wavelength depends on application
All filament options — tungsten, NiCr, carbon fiber

Why SOPARA

84 years of infrared expertise — Founded 1942 in France. As one of the oldest specialty brands for industrial infrared technology, SOPARA brings over eight decades of development and manufacturing expertise to every plant.
References with European industry leaders — SOPARA IR systems are running at market leaders in automotive, composites, flooring and nuclear — powering the most demanding thermal processes at French and European top companies.
Test laboratory in Pusignan near Lyon — Your material is validated in the SOPARA infrared lab on actual substrates: wavelength, power density and process parameters. Concrete results before the investment decision — no theory, no assumptions.
System expertise — from component to turnkey plant — Not just IR lamps. SOPARA delivers complete thermal process solutions: lamps, reflectors, protective glass, IR fields, power control, switchgear and process control. One contact for the entire thermal process. Made in France, ISO 9001:2015 certified, 5 % of sales invested in R&D.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are special IR emitters? — Infrared emitters manufactured for applications where standard lamps don't fit. Curved, omega-shaped or custom geometries for complex product shapes.
For which applications are special emitters needed? — Preheating of 3D components, heating of pipes and profiles, IR heating in machines with limited installation space, and processes requiring directed radiation on curved surfaces.
Can SOPARA manufacture any emitter individually? — Yes — SOPARA manufactures IR emitters in any required geometry. The design is based on process analysis and simulation.
How does the development of a special emitter work? — SOPARA analyzes the application, simulates the heat distribution, manufactures a prototype and validates in their own test laboratory — only then does the solution go into series.
